Waving Goodbye
01:46
|
|
||
once i was cold i
froze and fell into sleep
no beacon to guide
me through the night
if i'm adrift the ocean
is far too big for me
i'm waving goodbye
once i was cold
forgive me i'm so afraid i'll
never see land again
if i'm adrift the ocean is far
too big for me
i'm waving goodbye

Dolphins
04:20
|
|
||
i remember the dolphins in a pool under a
roof of wood and nails
it was dark and the
light came from the water
the rain made noise on the roof
all
time comes and lives somewhere
it's gone
twenty years and there's nothing there
carving faces in the rock
carving faces in the rock
who dares defile me
i remember sydenham in the sun
could i be a writer of truth and lies
i etched my name deep in the rock like i was
more than just some child
all
time comes then stays behind
the dolphins are just something in my mind
carving faces in the rock
who dares defile me

Fields
04:02
|
|
||
fields alone
you still feel at home
looking out you see a light on
reaching out
you feel there is no doubt
of everything having a meaning
goodbye
farewell
those fields are gone
or changed for a time
there are others on the horizon
and you will know
and you will know
you remember well
a song in a dell
everyone else had forgotten
you've kept it inside
now let it see the light
don't fear there are
many meanings
goodbye
farewell
those fields are gone
or changed for a time
there are others on the horizon
and you will know
and you will know

Open Doors
03:36
|
|
||
when i can breathe again
the paths that were closed
are open
still we repeat ourselves
but i will find another way
through open doors
begin to see
for every myth we make
we all try to recreate
still they can trap us
and we must begin to change
through open doors
begin to see
i'm still losing
the race to find all answers
still i'm trying
and someday they may
come to me
through open doors
begin to see

Orion
12:43
|
|
||
falling into wells again
time to begin climbing
nursery rhyme morals can't help me now
so many things to slow me down
nothing could ever seem quite the same
secret words and unheard names
still i try to hide sorrow
how can today be tomorrow
untold stories are the most common
grasping for an epilogue of peace
untold grievances hold us down
if i forgive you will you forgive me
still the earth just moves on by
and the sun stays with the sky
orion still shines through my eyes
somehow i'll grow with time

Shadow Walls
09:00
|
|
||
still trying to place your name
do you think it matters anymore?
every time i think of you
i know you can't stay heare
i know you can't stay here
to live under the shadow wall
where no one is really alive at all
i count the friends i've lost
before i sleep
but if i let you go
just where are you going to?
nothing we can do
nothing we can do
i feel one hundred years ago
there must have been some warmth here
under these streets
and those with you now
could feel somehow that
there is more that can be
and all your work could serve to set
you free
now i don't know where you live
and where you live i know that you're
not there
the ultimate piece
of this expression
is to find a suitably final end
every story tells of some beauty
and what does this mean
if there's art in destruction?
this can't be the way
this can't be the way
for you or anyone we are
no more than fleeting moments
still in writing i see
your name carries on
it's what you wanted
all along a place
where you can still have something of
your own
now just a name
nothing is connecting
nothing will be real
i die i live i feel
there is no answer here
